Focus and Scope

JNPM (Jurnal Nasional Pendidikan Matematika) publishes theoretical studies and empirical research that advance knowledge and practice in mathematics education. The journal focuses on mathematics teaching and learning across educational levels, with particular attention to research situated in the Indonesian context and its relevance to the international mathematics education community.

JNPM welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, education practitioners, and mathematics teachers at primary and secondary levels. Its scope encompasses the following areas:

  1. Models of Mathematics Teaching and Learning
The development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional models, approaches, and strategies that support students’ mathematical understanding, thinking, and learning.

  2. Instructional Media and Multimedia in Mathematics Education
The design, development, and use of instructional resources, digital technologies, and interactive multimedia to support mathematics teaching and learning.

  3. Curriculum in Mathematics Education
Curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, including the alignment of learning objectives, mathematical content, instructional practices, and assessment.

  4. Assessment and Evaluation in Mathematics Education
The development and use of assessment instruments and evaluation methods to examine students’ mathematical competencies, learning processes, and learning outcomes.

  5. Professional Development of Mathematics Teachers
Pre-service and in-service teacher education, pedagogical content knowledge, reflective practice, and professional learning aimed at improving mathematics instruction.

  6. Ethnomathematics in Mathematics Teaching and Learning
The exploration of mathematical ideas embedded in cultural practices and their integration into mathematics learning activities, instructional materials, and learning environments.

  7. Didactical Design in Mathematics Teaching and Learning
The analysis of students’ learning obstacles and the development, implementation, and refinement of didactical designs and learning trajectories for mathematical concepts.

  8. Lesson Study in Mathematics Education
Collaborative planning, observation, and reflection on mathematics lessons to improve teaching practices, teacher learning, and students’ learning experiences.
