Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions Policy
Journal of Green Science and Technology (JGST) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record.
Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article but the error does not invalidate the main findings or conclusions of the work.
Corrections may address errors introduced by the authors or during the editorial and production process.
Expression of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when serious questions are raised regarding the reliability, integrity, ethical status, or validity of a published article, but the available information is not yet sufficient to reach a final conclusion.
An Expression of Concern may remain in place while an investigation or institutional process is ongoing.
Retractions
A retraction may be considered when there is clear evidence that:
- the findings are unreliable because of major error or research misconduct;
- substantial plagiarism or redundant publication is identified;
- unethical research is confirmed;
- fabricated, falsified, or manipulated data materially affect the reliability of the article;
- another serious issue substantially undermines the validity or integrity of the published work.
Editorial Assessment
Concerns regarding published articles may be raised by authors, reviewers, readers, institutions, or other parties.
The Editor-in-Chief will conduct an initial assessment and may request clarification, original data, supporting documentation, or other relevant information from the authors or other parties involved.
Where appropriate, JGST may seek information from the author's institution, ethics committee, or another competent authority.
Relevant authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond before a final editorial action is taken, unless immediate action is necessary to protect the scholarly record.
Publication of Notices
Correction, Expression of Concern, or Retraction notices will:
- clearly identify the affected article;
- explain the reason for the editorial action;
- identify the nature of the correction or concern;
- remain permanently accessible;
- be electronically linked to the original article.
Preservation of the Scholarly Record
JGST will not normally remove a published article solely because it has been corrected or retracted.
The original scholarly record should remain accessible with clear labeling and links to the relevant editorial notice, except in exceptional circumstances involving legal requirements, privacy, personal safety, or other serious considerations.
Corrections and retractions are intended to preserve the integrity of scholarly communication and are not used as a form of punishment.
