Authorship and Contributorship Policy

Journal of Green Science and Technology (JGST) requires authorship to accurately reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the research and preparation of the manuscript.

Authorship Criteria

An individual should be listed as an author only when they have made a substantial contribution to one or more important aspects of the work, such as:

  • conception or design of the study;
  • acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
  • development of methodology;
  • preparation or substantial revision of the manuscript; or
  • other significant scholarly contributions to the work.

All listed authors must:

  • participate sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for their contribution;
  • review and approve the final version of the manuscript;
  • agree to submission and publication in JGST; and
  • be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of their contribution.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and for ensuring that:

  • all eligible contributors are included as authors;
  • no inappropriate authors are listed;
  • all authors have approved the submitted and final versions of the manuscript; and
  • all required authorship, conflict of interest, funding, and ethical disclosures are complete.

Contributorship

Authors may be required to provide a statement describing their individual contributions to the work.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately rather than listed as authors.

Inappropriate Authorship

JGST does not permit:

  • guest authorship;
  • gift or honorary authorship;
  • ghost authorship; or
  • the inclusion or exclusion of authors for non-scholarly reasons.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be supported by a clear explanation and, where required, written agreement from all affected authors.

Requests for authorship changes after acceptance will normally be considered only in exceptional circumstances.

Artificial Intelligence and Authorship

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and other non-human technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, or accountability of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for any AI-assisted content used in the manuscript.
