Journal of Education in Mathematics (JoEM) was established in response to the increasingly complex developments in mathematics education and the growing need for a credible, open-access, and standardized platform for scholarly publication. This journal serves as an academic medium that facilitates the dissemination of research findings, theoretical reviews, and practical innovations that contribute to the advancement of knowledge, policy, and practices in mathematics education across various educational levels.
JoEM began publication in 2025, initiated by a group of academics and researchers in mathematics education who are committed to strengthening the scientific tradition and enhancing the quality of mathematics education both in Indonesia and globally. From its inception, JoEM has embraced a vision of becoming an excellent, progressive, and inclusive scientific journal, accommodating various research approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies. At present, JoEM continues to grow in terms of quality, visibility, and credibility, and is currently in the process of pursuing national accreditation (SINTA). As a relatively young journal, JoEM remains committed to becoming a reputable platform for the dissemination of interdisciplinary research that benefits both the academic community and the broader society.
