Pengaruh Ekstrak Etanol Daun Moringa Oleifera terhadap Kadar Insulin Serum Tikus Hiperglikemik

ABSTRAK

Latar belakang: Daun Moringa oleifera mengandung senyawa aktif yang meregenerasi sel β pankreas dan antioksidan yang menurunkan stres oksidatif sehingga dapat memperbaiki kadar insulin serum pada kondisi hiperglikemik.

Metode : Randomized pre and post test controlled group design dilakukan pada 18 tikus Sprague-Dawley jantan hiperglikemik yang dibagi dalam 3 kelompok (kontrol dan perlakuan 250 dan 500 mg/kg BB/hari ekstrak etanol daun Moringa oleifera selama 21 hari). Kadar insulin serum dianalisis menggunakan Paired t test/Wilcoxon test. Perbedaan  delta insulin serum dianalisis dengan One way anova test dan dilanjutkan dengan Tukey test

Hasil : Kadar insulin serum sesudah perlakuan dibandingkan sebelum perlakuan pada kelompok K, P1 dan P2 (p<0,05). Kadar insulin serum pada ketiga kelompok (p<0,05). Kadar insulin P1 dan P2 berbeda bermakna dibandingkan K, namun P1 tidak berbeda bermakna dengan P2.

Simpulan : Ekstrak etanol daun Moringa oleifera dosis 250 mg/kg BB/hari merupakan dosis efektif untuk pengendalian hiperglikemik.

ABSTRACT

Background Active compounds of Moringa oleifera leaves regenerate pancreatic β cells. Antioxidant content decreases oxidative stress so that it can improve the levels of serum insulin in hyperglycemic condition.

Method : Pre and post test randomized controlled group design conducted on 18 male hyperglycemic Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 3 groups (control and treatment of 250 and 500 mg/kg/day of ethanol extract of  Moringa oleifera leaves for 21 days). Serum insulin levels were analyzed using Paired t test/Wilcoxon test. Difference delta serum insulin  were analyzed by One way ANOVA test and followed by Tukey test.

Results : Serum insulin levels after treatment compared to before treatment in group K, P1 and P2 (p <0,05). The levels of Insulin serum in all three groups (p<0.05). Levels of insulin levels P1 and P2 K significantly different, but not significantly different P1 with P2.

Conclusion : Ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves dose of 250 mg/kg bw/day is an effective dose for hyperglycemic control.
