Focus and Scope

Journal Socio Humanities Review (JSHR) is an international peer-reviewed electronic journal that provides a platform for publishing original research articles, systematic literature reviews (by invitation), and short communications in the fields of social sciences and humanities. The journal welcomes contributions from scholars, researchers, educators, professionals, practitioners, and graduate students (Master's and Doctoral levels) who wish to publish their work in the areas of humanities, social sciences, law, religion, communication, business, management, accounting, and education.

JSHR is not only aimed at researchers in Indonesia, but also welcomes international authors who wish to contribute to global discourse and the development of interdisciplinary knowledge within the journal’s areas of focus. Each issue may also feature invited articles from leading scholars and practitioners to ensure academic depth and diversity.

The journal invites original research articles that are not under consideration by other journals or conferences. JSHR accepts articles across a wide spectrum of socio-humanistic fields, including but not limited to the following domains:

1. Humanities, Social, Law, and Religious Studies

This scope covers a wide range of topics that explore human society, culture, belief systems, legal structures, and philosophical thought. Articles in this category may include (but are not limited to):

  • Cultural studies
  • Philosophy and ethics
  • Religion and interfaith dialogue
  • Sociology and anthropology
  • Legal systems, jurisprudence, and legal reform
  • Human rights and social justice

A submission is eligible under this scope if it provides a critical and evidence-based analysis of human behavior, belief, or legal phenomena with clear implications for scholarship and/or practice.

2. Social Science and Communication

This scope focuses on human interaction, behavior in society, and the role of communication in social dynamics. Submissions may include studies in:

  • Social theory and public policy
  • Media studies and journalism
  • Interpersonal and organizational communication
  • Political science and governance
  • Digital society and social media impact
  • Communication for development

Eligible papers in this area should provide analytical frameworks, empirical findings, or theoretical insights into how communication shapes and reflects social realities.

3. Accounting, Business, and Management

This domain encompasses scholarly work in business studies, financial systems, organizational theory, and entrepreneurship. Topics may include:

  • Financial and managerial accounting
  • Strategic and operational management
  • Business innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Human resource management
  • Marketing and consumer behavior
  • Corporate governance and sustainability

Papers are considered in this section if they analyze current practices, provide new frameworks, or offer solutions to challenges in the business, accounting, or management sectors.

4. Education

This scope addresses educational practices, policies, innovations, and pedagogical theories across various levels and contexts. Topics include:

  • Curriculum development and instructional strategies
  • Inclusive and equitable education
  • Educational leadership and policy
  • Teacher education and professional development
  • Technology in education (EdTech)
  • Assessment, evaluation, and educational measurement

Eligible papers should contribute to the advancement of theory or practice in education through empirical research, case studies, or theoretical development.
