Journal Socio Humanities Review (JSHR) is an international electronic journal published by Lembaga Penelitian Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati in collaboration with Relawan Jurnal Indonesia (RJI). A manuscript submitted is evaluated through Initial Review by Editorial Editor in Chief/Managing Editor. If the article matches the journal requirements in terms of the scope, originality, contribution, novelty sufficiency of experimental data, and format, at least 2 (two) peer reviewers are assigned to review the manuscript with the Double-Blind Peer Review Process. Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses. The Editor shall inform you of the results of the review as soon as possible, hopefully in 30 to 60 days. The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by an editor. It will be evaluated in the office, whether it is suitable for the Journal Socio Humanities Review focus and scope or has a major methodological flaw and similarity score. If the article needs revision, the manuscript is returned to the authors to revise. After that, the Editor in Chief makes the final decision (accepted or rejected). In each manuscript reviewed, peer reviewers will be rated based on the substantial and technical aspects. The details of the process are:
The steps point number 1 to 5 are considered as 1 round of the peer-reviewing process. The editor will run a plagiarism check using turnitin.com (Web Checker) for the submitted articles before sending it to the reviewers. We do not process any plagiarised contents. If an article has over 20% of plagiarism based on the result of the check, we will send back the article to the author to be revised for the plagiarised contents. The journal is carried out by using Mendeley as a Tool Reference Manager. The language used in this journal is English. The editor or editorial board considers the feedback provided by the peer reviewers and arrives at a decision. The following are the most common decisions:
The accepted research articles will be available online (free download) following the journal peer-reviewing process. The final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to Reviewers' comments. The articles sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. The revised article returned later than 20 days will be considered as new submissions. The revised article can be sent to the editorial through the Online Submission Interface.
Authors could recommend potential reviewers on menu “Comments for the Editor” in Open Journal System. Journal editors will check to make sure there are no conflicts of interest before contacting those reviewers and will not consider those with competing interests. Reviewers are asked to declare any conflicts of interest. The editorial team will respect these requests as long as this does not interfere with the objective and thorough assessment of the submission. Assignment of the peer review is based on the expertise and experiences in research and publication relevant to the field of the manuscript to be reviewed. The number of citations and an h-index value of peer reviewers is parameter examples for consideration in assigning as a reviewer.
All articles published in Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license options, currently being defined for this journal as Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY)
