About the Journal

SASTRAJENDRA is a scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Education and Science (FPS) at Swadaya Gunung Jati University (UGJ) in Cirebon, focusing on the study of literature and local wisdom as the foundation for the development of globally oriented knowledge. The journal is published in August and features research articles, theoretical analyses, and critical studies on literary phenomena both oral and written in relation to the value systems, knowledge, and cultural practices of local communities across the Indonesian archipelago and globally.

SASTRAJENDRA serves as a platform for disseminating research findings that bridge the study of classical and contemporary literature with issues of local wisdom, thereby contributing to the preservation, revitalization, and transformation of local cultural values into an academic discourse that is accessible globally.

  3. Comparative Literature: cross-cultural and cross-linguistic studies that connect local literature with global literary discourse.
  4. Literary Criticism and Literary Theory: structuralist, postcolonial, ecocritical, feminist, semiotic, and other contemporary approaches applied to local texts.
  5. Literature and Character/Values Education: the internalization of local wisdom through literature education in schools and universities.
  6. Digital Literature and Media Transformation: media conversion, digital documentation, and the revitalization of oral literature through technology.
  7. Anthropology and Sociology of Literature: literature as a mirror of social structures, rituals, and belief systems of local, national, and global communities.
