Background contextual approach CTL (Contextual Teaching and
Learning) is a concept of learning that help teachers facilitate students' skills by
linking the content to be studied by real-world situations students and encourage
students to make connections between the knowledge possessed by the application
in their lives as members of the family and society involving seven major
components of effective learning Constructivism, inquiry / find. Asks, community
learning, modeling, Reflection, actual assessment. With a growing return of the
spirit and interests of students in the learning process, is expected to improve
student learning outcomes, especially from the aspect of accounting skills.
The formulation of the problem of how the implementation of the
application of accounting-based contextual learning through group discussion
method can effectively improve accounting skills in class XI student of SMAN 8
Cirebon.
The purpose of this study was to determine the contextual learning
through Collaboration Based Learning (Based Collaborative Group Discussion) in
improving the skills of accounting students, and students in learning activities
Accounting. The research subjects in this study were students of class XI IPS
SMAN 2 8 Cirebon in the school year 2015/2016 a total of 32 students. Skill is
the ability to do the patterns of complex behavior and neatly arranged smoothly
and according to the circumstances to achieve specific results. It means that
people are able to leverage other people's right is also regarded as a skilled person.
Research conducted using (PTK), with 3 cycles and each cycle consisting of
planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. How to capture the data in
this study by collecting data on the activity of observation, and the value of the
pretest, posttest, cycle I, II, III in the form of an essay question. Analyzed by the
index gain normalized. Based on the research results obtained by the average
score of each cycle has increased with an average yield gain normalized index
with high criteria. As a measure of success obtained value reaches minimum
completeness criteria (KKM). So, the conclusion of this research is the study of
accounting with the use of contextual learning through Collaboration Based
Learning (Based Collaborative Group Discussion) can improve the skills of
accounting students in accounting subjects in class XI IPS 2 SMAN 8 Cirebon.
