Cirebon Annual Interdisciplinary International Conference (CAIIC) 2024

Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (UGJ) Cirebon menyelenggarakan CAIIC pada 19 September 2024 dengan tema "Enhancing Law, Social Science, and Technology Innovation Based on Local Wisdom for the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)". Konferensi ini diadakan secara hybrid dan menghadirkan pemateri dari berbagai negara.

Rektor UGJ, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Achmad Faqih, menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat untuk pembelajaran masyarakat dan menunjukkan komitmen UGJ terhadap lingkungan, kemiskinan, kesehatan, dan pendidikan. Konferensi ini menjadi wadah bagi akademisi, peneliti, profesional, dan pemangku kepentingan untuk berbagi pemikiran mengenai pentingnya pendekatan berbasis kearifan lokal sebagai solusi menghadapi tantangan global, khususnya dalam mencapai SDGs.

Direktur Sekolah Pascasarjana UGJ, Prof. Dr. H. Endang Sutrisno, menambahkan bahwa isu pembangunan berkelanjutan sangat strategis karena tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan generasi saat ini, tetapi juga generasi mendatang. UGJ berkomitmen untuk terus memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap lingkungan sekitar, khususnya terkait kebijakan-kebijakan pembangunan. ​

Acara ini juga dihadiri oleh berbagai instansi seperti Bapelitbangda, Dinas Kesehatan, serta unsur Forkopimda, menunjukkan upaya UGJ dalam membangun konsep pendekatan yang integral, komprehensif, dan holistik terhadap isu-isu yang ada. ​
