ANALYSING THE WORLD CLASS READINGS 1 A READING SKILL TEXT IN THE VIEW OF SEMANTIC IN ELT

Abstract

 

 

Mastering english vocabulary for English  learners is very important as vocabulary is the main  source  to understand and comprehen others in communication. Therefore, the aim of this study is to know the vocabulary content of the reading comprehension textbook for the students in the view  of semantic in ELT. The research methodology to be  applied is descriptive qualitative from Fraenkle & Wallen (2003). This method is used to analyse every chapter of the book to know the  vocabur lary content. This is due to theimportance of vocabulary as the source of meanings to comprehend the text. This research would liketoknow the type of lexical relations dominantly involved in the text. Thus, the semantic theory used in this reseach is from Saeed (1998). The findings are hopefully useful and give contribution both learners and lecturers, and readers in general.
