Types of Manuscripts

Euclid primarily publishes:

  1. Original Research Articles reporting empirical, theoretical, experimental, computational, or methodological research;

  2. Review Articles presenting systematic and critical syntheses of relevant literature;

  3. Theoretical or Conceptual Articles developing or examining mathematical, educational, theoretical, or conceptual frameworks; and

  4. Design and Development Studies reporting the systematic development and evaluation of learning designs, assessment instruments, educational technologies, mathematical models, or other scholarly products.

All manuscripts must make a clear scholarly contribution and fall within the journal’s focus and scope.

Peer-Review Process

Every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment to evaluate its relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, scholarly contribution, methodological or theoretical quality, compliance with the journal’s guidelines, and adherence to publication ethics.

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are evaluated through a double-anonymous peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.

Each manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s scholarly quality and the reviewers’ recommendations. Possible decisions include:

  • accept;

  • accept with minor revisions;

  • revise and resubmit;

  • reject and resubmit as a new manuscript; or

  • reject.

The Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility for publication decisions.

Publication Frequency

Euclid is published four times a year:

  • January;

  • April;

  • July; and

  • October.

The journal was first published in 2014. It was published twice a year, in January and July, from 2014 to 2022. Beginning with Volume 10 in 2023, Euclid increased its publication frequency to four issues per year.

Open Access

Euclid provides immediate and permanent open access to all published content. Readers may access, read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to published articles without subscription fees, registration requirements, or embargo periods.

This policy reflects the principle that free access to research supports wider dissemination, scholarly collaboration, and the advancement of knowledge.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright to their published work and grant Euclid the non-exclusive right of first publication.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license permits users to share and adapt published material for any lawful purpose, provided that appropriate attribution is given and derivative works are distributed under the same license.

Publication Ethics

Euclid is committed to integrity, transparency, accountability, and fairness in scholarly publishing.

Authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or other forms of research and publication misconduct.

Suspected ethical violations will be investigated fairly and confidentially with reference to relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using recognized similarity-detection software.

As a general requirement:

  • the overall similarity score should not exceed 20%; and

  • similarity from any single source should not normally exceed 3%.

Similarity percentages are used as screening benchmarks and do not replace editorial judgment. The nature, extent, location, source, and context of matching material will be examined before an editorial decision is made.

Article Processing Charge

Euclid does not charge a manuscript submission fee.

An Article Processing Charge of USD 15 applies only to manuscripts officially accepted for publication. The standard length of a published article is 10–12 pages according to the official journal template.

Payment does not influence editorial decisions or the peer-review process. The corresponding author will receive the official invoice and payment instructions through the journal’s official email after the manuscript has been accepted.

Digital Publishing

Euclid uses Open Journal Systems to manage manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing, publication, and online access.

Published articles receive permanent bibliographic information and are made available through the journal website. Authors are encouraged to use persistent researcher identifiers, particularly ORCID iDs, and to provide accurate metadata to improve the discovery, attribution, and indexing of their work.

Audience

The journal is intended for:

  • mathematics and mathematics-education researchers;

  • lecturers and teachers;

  • applied and pure mathematicians;

  • educational assessment and evaluation specialists;

  • curriculum and instructional designers;

  • graduate and undergraduate students;

  • policymakers and education administrators; and

  • practitioners interested in mathematics and its applications.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scholarly merit, relevance, originality, methodological or theoretical soundness, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field.

The publisher, institutional relationships, commercial considerations, and payment of publication fees do not influence manuscript acceptance or rejection.
