Abstract

This study aims to explore angklung as a medium for forming children's social interactions and analyze the application of music education based on local wisdom values. In early childhood education, angklung is essential in improving social and emotional skills, which are crucial aspects of child development. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods of children participating in angklung learning activities in elementary schools.

The study results show that angklung playing activities strengthen children's musical skills and develop positive social relationships among classmates. Angklung learning facilitates the formation of attitudes of mutual respect, discipline, and the ability to work together in groups. Furthermore, this approach allows the introduction of local wisdom values that enrich children's learning experiences while fostering a sense of love for their own culture.

This study emphasizes the importance of integrating traditional music education into a curriculum focusing on local wisdom to strengthen children's character and social interaction. By implementing angklung in education, it is hoped that children will be better prepared to become individuals with character, empathy, and care about the social environment.
