The purpose of this experiment, for knowof varieties response to the effects of plant spacing on growth and yield. The experiments were conducted at the Indonesia Vegetable Reseach Institute (IVEGRI) farm, Lembang (1250m asl), Andosol type soil, in March-June 2014. Using split plot block design. The main plot consisted of A. cultivars (A1 = Royal Chanteney, A2 = Cipanas). B. Sub plot : plant distance/spacing (B1 = Without a spacing (spread in beds), B2 =. Spacing 10 cm x 5 cm; B3 = 10 cm x 10 cm, 10 cm x 15 cm = B4, B5 = 10 cm x 20 cm; B6 = 10 cm x 25 cm). The hypothesis is upheld 1) Variety greatly affect the ou..tcome, from F1-hybrid varieties produce better results weighted and uniform compared with local cultivars. 2) The use of a spacing will improve the quality and yield compared with using a spacing. The result showed that the treatment of inter varieties showed significantly differences, where the variety Chanteney (introduction, F1) resulted in the hight yieldcompare with local varieties, but adaptation is less well compared to local varieties, In characterized by the survival of plant population amount is lower than the local cultivars. Seeds spreading to producing weight quality for tuber roots of a worse outcome than the use of plant spacing, but is able to produce of fresh plant of total biomass crops heavier than treatment used plant distance.The plant distance/spacing 10 cm x 5 cm on used of the tuber root quality and weight produce lower yields compared to other treatmentof  plant spacing. The larger the size of a spacing there is a trend the better the quality and weight results in the finded. But in terms of weight the results, the spacing of 10 cmx15cm and 10 cm x 20 cm, are idial spacing qualified for planting carrots.
